To Be A Man

Little man,
I know you want to cry
But society gives you one reason why,
You should learn to toughen up,
Be a man,
Cut off human emotion
As much as you can
Even as you face this burden,
Take care
To be kind
To yourself and others,
Redefine
What it means
To be
A man.

  1. That image of man as the one who should never cry, the tough guy without emotion, has probably done more harm than good. Men do need to show they care and understand, show emotions, and that may well mean sharing crying at times, as well as the hugging and holding. Good post to trigger thoughts 🙂
