Time it now seems to tick differently,
Though the hands nor numbers have changed,
It seems faster,
More pressing,
Each tock,
For the situation is more dire now,
As if we weren’t always evading the inevitable end,
As if death is only now an option,
We are afraid of this reminder,
For now it is constant,
Encroaching like this very plague,
On all aspects of our lives,
Waking in disbelief that this is reality,
Then try to move through the day that continues to age despite you,
And everything seems a pointless distraction from the fact that this is not normal,
This hovering of fear,
Fear of contagion,
Fear of loss,
Fear of the unknowns,
Of a world held hostage by this virus.
Isolate,
Don’t congregate,
Keep the spread under–
Control has never been had,
And that is our greatest fear,
That no grip will gain hold of this
Unleashed Pandemic,

The Idle Bleeding Heart
I cannot help
But think
Of all the hurting
In the world,
My bleeding heart overflows,
My mind searches,
For solutions,
My hands for a task that may bring
A greater peace,
But I am left idle,
Unable to accommodate,
Unable to find a means,
Identify a way,
To use this vessel
To help heal the world,
My words will serve as record,
Of the hearts that bled,
That lives were not forgotten,
That many of those who did “nothing”,
Did not abandon cause,
They searched within their means,
And though made weary
never completely tired of fighting
The machine
The World Envisioned (a reverse poem)
This
Is not
all,
the world
envisioned for you dear,
I expected
more
Of our fellow humans,
believe in something
Better,
more than this
home
You have been given,
May you see the good
come.
Come,
May you see the good
You have been given,
Home,
more than this
Better,
believe In something
Of our fellow humans,
More.
I expected,
envisioned for you dear,
the world.
All,
is not
this.
The Illustrator
You, illustrator,
Draw a world where others care,
Where pain shouldn’t be,
You tend to society,
Make a place I want to be
Quote, Be the Change
“Be the change
You wish to see
In the world.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
Spots
We must know
What our forbearers knew,
We have forgotten,
But are not lost
It will be scary
Hard,
New,
Different
We must learn
Before our opportunity is missed;
Do not waste
Your spot
Do not waste your
immortality
