It all falls apart,
The wounds we thought we healed tear
Open
Again,
Habits unchanged,
Characters the same,
We are dancing around in the dark,
Pretending it’s a new day,
But everything is as it once
was
Again

Seasonal Clock
It is cold,
And the rain trickles down the panes,
Whispering of winter still to come,
And I resist acknowledging the inevitable,
As if my denial of consent,
Will keep the seasonal clock
Right where it is.
For Granted
In an instant
It can be bad or worse
What we take for granted may be
That moment that hangs
with life or death
in the balance
Warmth of Sun
The sun spares some warmth
All ages become young kids
Time seems to stand still
Someone’s Hero
I do not see it,
Day to day,
The me that takes your breath
Away,
I need reminded now
And then,
That I am much greater
Than I imagine,
How far I have come,
How much I have done,
I must stop and really try
To recall,
But from the outside
From someone else’s view,
To appreciate
That I may be
Someone’s hero,
Just by being me,
Despite the odds,
By living,
By persevering
Look (I’m Becoming)
Look at me,
Look what I can do,
Look how fast I’m growing,
I can tie my shoe,
Look and see what I found that’s new,
I’m curious about everything,
Now hear me read,
Write my name,
You won’t n notice it at first
But oh I’ve changed,
Constantly,
My height, my weight, my voice,
I’ve become my own person,
In that moment you blinked,
I can count higher than you even know,
I can be kind,
I can be wise,
I can be brave,
I can, I can,
Do all the things I couldn’t yesterday
I can be the being you only imagined,
Watch me do it,
By myself,
Your are teaching me,
To have you near,
Even when you are not around,
Look and see before I am grown,
I’m growing, learning, being,
But from your smile,
Your tears,
I see that this
you must already know
