Longing for human contact,
Howling like the wolf,
In wild in a pack,
Not meant to be lone

Where do you go, love,
When your words cannot be seen?
Toiling still in life?
–Filling your world with beauty,
In the act of just being

You answer my call
With stars aligned in message
Here you read my thoughts
You are never far away
Nor ever out of my mind

Pigment hidden from plain sight,
Disregard impact,
Prejudice erodes the past,
So only a lie is cast

Place hopes where they may not go,
Hoping despite doubt,
Loving him still despite fear,
