Kaleidoscope

I am running,
But I’m losing breath,
No time to check the time,
Time is always running
Parallel to my destination,
I’m always late at the station,
I pump harder
Fear I might die,
Sprout wings,
And see me, watch me
fly.
I’ve never been up here;
Up high,
Never seen the masses from such a distance,
To see they gather
Following my vision,
As we all see the dream,
Through different eyes
The gaze,
Beautiful the colors as they shift,
Align, and fluidly create,
Our dreams put to fruition,
Are gaining speed,
As they turn into items, feats,
That were once loose imaginings,
This is our kaleidoscope
Of a wise black spirit,
That lovingly absorbs all the colors

Witch

The mind’s eye knows
What the physical eye does not see,
It understands what the heart denies,
I laid a table with some trifles,
Momentary thoughts made visible,
Placed a bowl of stones,
So pretty,
Made candles glow,
Cinnamon sprig for scents so lovely,
I adorn and go,
But then return,
Something calls me to the setting,
This is my space,
What am I forgetting?
Charms of luck,
Of thoughtful teachers,
I’ve a space fit for a priestess,
I gaze upon the temple I’ve created,
And see myself reflected,
An image either I avoided,
Or could not see,
My naturistic heart,
At peace,
The mother womb,
Experienced with patience,
Has waited long for this realization,
Viewing this my altar,
I am more than I thought I was to be,
The title tastes like copper on my tongue,
Savory and forbidden,
I accept the honor be it bestowed,
In name I shall try on,
My ancestors are with me
Helping me to take the mantle,
To acknowledge their often fatal sacrifice,
For sacred craft,
From core realized,
I accept this name,
This gift,
Breathing out I speak it,
“Witch”.

(On Your Next Plane) Fly Free

I am
wrecked
by guilt
That I never thought this possible
That I never reached out
before
You were gone,
Before
you were gone too soon,
Taken by a force too much
For your precious body,
You were more to us
Than you ever knew,

I should have told you,
You were an inspiration,
I should have told you,
You were a light,
I should have told you,
You were a best friend,
I hope you knew,

For now it is too late,
And I curse fate,
For taking the good so soon,
Too soon,
Before you had lived your life,
Been old with time,
May your body rest
in peace,
May your soul
fly free,
To inhabit the next phase of your metamorphosis,

This world was not deserving
of your beauty,
Of your goodness,
And for that I am sure
this is not the end
For you,
On your next plane
you will do,
you will be,
Something even greater,
More deserving of your soul,
You will be missed,
My soul sister,
And as tears burn my eyes,
I know for your soul I do not cry,
But for the loss of our world from knowing you,
May we find you again,
In a free spirit,
In a new babe born,

Dearest,
More than anything you are loved,
And dearest
Oh how you shall be missed,
Visit us when you can,
In the whisper of the wind,
In a smile from a memory,
And I do not doubt it,
That you
We shall never forget.

In Spirit

I’m most with spirit
When creating works of art,
In faith formation
I’m off in spirit
When mind and hands are melded,
Creating a new
Spirit is in me,
Always, and I am in it,
I’m never alone

Walking with the Ancestors

I feel you here,
Ancestors,
Wordless you whisper in my mind,
Letting me know I am never alone,
That you reside beside my soul,
Ancestors,
I know you weren’t perfect,
You were human,
Now as spirit,
You are lessons,
Guides,
Wisdom,
Perhaps what I know is not from my mind alone,
But the culmination of your knowledge,
You have been here always,
Now I am just wise enough,
Open enough to see,
Ancestors,
May your continued existence be blessed,
I am grateful for your gifts of presence and wisdom,
As you walk in step with me.

Mystic Evolution

Awakening my soul,
From slumber I was unaware
It was sleeping,
Feeling the radiant power
Of thought turned into idea,
Transformed into action,
Cycled back again,
Layers pulled back,
Reveal parts of self I’ve yet to meet,
And as I come to know them,
Mystical mists sweep me to otherworlds,
Open hidden passageways,
And as I step through I am alone,
But supported,
I am evolving,
In faith and mind,
To be closer to the cosmos,
Both in and creating me,
And this is just the beginning.
