Under a full moon
Last night
I dreamt of you,
I saw your face
As clear as daylight,
As real as memory can illustrate,
And in your eyes
I know you knew how I felt
When you looked at me,
Though I’m not quite sure what that was
Other than love,
And I suppose it was a gift
To see you in slumber so well,
I swear I heard your voice,
Maybe it was a message from you,
Letting me know
I wouldn’t be able to know of your being
For a time,
As has always been with us,
I will write my pieces,
And hope you still see what I have for you,
And I will continue to love and wish you well,
Praying to the infinite universe you are cared for well,
That my well meaning hands, which wish to tend to you,
Will be vicariously taken up by others,
And that you too will love and care for yourself,
The way only a beloved could

Contagious Light
The light that touches us,
Touches all of us,
But sometimes we are subject to being touched
By that same light,
Through another,
And we are inspired,
To seeing stars with brighter eyes,
Color with more depth;
To appreciate the smile of a homeless man,
The plight of a new mother,
The stories of lives clear across the globe;
To want to give more of yourself
To a force that is beyond your knowing;
To wanting to know and face the difficult;
To being a fuller version of yourself,
To exhibiting your own
Contagious rays of light
Love Is
Love is tear drops on a goodnight pillow when a “goodnight” is missed,
Love is concern for well being at even the most minor of scrapes,
Love is foregoing the good, so another is not left alone,
Love is giving the hard truths when most needed
Love is the tear stained shoulder,
Love is band aid kisses to make it all better,
Love is letting go,
Love is holding on,
Love is finding meaning in seemingly insignificant moments,
Love is an infinite abstract source
That keeps finding new and awe inspiring ways to be made known
Love is.
Half a World Away
When you were half a world away
I worried for you,
Worried for your loss,
Worried for your life,
Worried for your mind,
Worried for the time slipping you by,
Worried you would not receive my next letter,
Worried I would lose a friend,
I had yet met,
When you were half a world away,
But I was gifted
Something not every pen pal gets,
I was gifted
From half a world away
The chance to see you,
Know you,
Touch you;
My worries were prayers,
Part of me believes,
Answered by angels I cannot name,
That brought you home,
From half a world away
Half a world away,
I cannot fathom what filled your sight,
What fears might still keep you up at night,
That is not my place to know,
But to just be here,
Writer and reader,
Companion
Near,
Half a world away
Not Unnoticed
Constellation read,
My work goes not unnoticed,
My star sees me too
In Light of Day (a reverse poem)
And I dream of you
Even in the light of day,
Always
Like stars,
you were always here
But you showed me
And then you had to go,
The one long missed
And it was okay,
we kissed,
And we laughed and cried,
And I told you the same
things kept locked away,
The unspoken words,
all the things you couldn’t say;
you said
You were here
You were here,
you said all the things you couldn’t say,
The unspoken words,
Things kept locked away,
And I told you the same,
And we laughed and cried,
we kissed,
And it was okay,
The one long missed,
And then you had to go,
But you showed me,
you were always here
Like stars,
Always,
Even in the light of day,
And I dream of you
