Words float through the mind
Brilliant blazing shooting stars
I catch in my net

Present in the Now
February 2017
“Just do it,”
They told us
As kids and adolescents
Check-mark
my words,
Then they erased
All those learned lessons
To make us
Yuppy-clones,
petrified of
“there is no wrong answer”
Because
all answers were answers,
depending on…
something,
they were none,
and all, each wrong,
So that decisions
we belabor
we have just made;
And more of your time
wasted
as we worry over
wasted time
Forget past
And future,
Ground self
in present,
as we grind
Arabica beans,
or count sheep
to sleep
We each only live once
in this very instant
that is already
long gone past,
and here
is now.
Simply Friends
July 28, 2017
I want to know you
The way I never got to
Simply as a friend
Bare Verse
July 28, 2017
She opens up,
candidly bares her soul,
in verse
Shivers,
feeling the chill
Of cool breeze
On naked flesh
She scuttles back
To watch from
her guarded shelter
Disappointment
July 22, 2017
Echoing ache
Unmet expectations
Expectations of things
not meant to be expected
Transcendence
July 26, 2017
The first to be attacked
The last to be saved
You are bravery in every breath
A spectrum of humanity,
May you find shelter
In these troubled times
May you feel the love
Harbored by others
for you
