Giving Thanks

I will be thankful,
But will also be aware,
This day is a myth

Be thankful always,
For each breath you may still take,
For what others may not

Know your history,
Not propaganda,
The ugly parts too

Shame warrants action,
Warrants accepting the truth,
Warrants giving back

Thanks and commitment,
To making amends,
No matter the guilt

This is our story,
We choose our next roles,
For that I give thanks

Love Immortal

The light, the heat,
The electricity that generates
Our love,
The days grow longer and the sun closer,
But we more distant,
Distracted,
we forget we lose
Touch
with the genuine feeling,

Until we find it again
In the cold months,
And that love rebounds
Again, and again
and longs lasts into new summer heat
And withstand the slow death
Of the fall,
And rebirth from which we
Will spring,
But we will last,
Because our passion exploded
In the cold,

You are the snowman;
And I never created you,
I just gave you my heart,
and it brought you to life,
And you gave me your
Heart and soul,
And I was reborn,
And together
We made a
Love immortal.

Wound

August 11, 2017
My bandage has ripped off
And exposed the wound
I never let heal,
A wound that should
have long ago closed,
Exposed now to air
The hurt is fresh,
And I can see that it is there
I feel the sting,
And unwilling to repeat the past
I stare at it, aware,
And beckon it to close

Recovery

April 7, 2017

Uprooted unexpectedly
Frozen
Blizzard of mind
Meeting Nor’easter
That pushed past limits

Chasing snowmen

She lost footing
Losing

Sight

Snow Blind,
she could no longer see.
Reality,
She knew not.

Lost

Blown off course
Paralyzed
Doubled over

Then
found.

Fragmented.

Then
Rebuilt
Reborn
Finding self
Emancipation.

As she walks now,
aware of
where
she has been,
what
she has been,
Done
And seen,
To recognize fact from fiction
She keeps anchor

In mind
In hand
She is shifting vision

clarifying sight

And mind.
