Trust the Process

Before it had all gone south
And wires crossed
I had been on a mission,
Of gratitude
And change,
I forgot my trajectory
Amid complications,
Things turned upside down,
And I came to regret
So much of this,
Yet further reflection makes me wonder
Was this all part
Of the process,
One that is yet complete,
Of the quest I first began?
Trust the process.

Processing

I am processing,
All the recent things,
Rehashing what was
To understand what is;
This is difficult, necessary labor,
To birth the new,
the next
version of me,
With an upgrade in process,
Excuse any confusion
While my system comes up to date.

Healing

Healing is bittersweet,
It is hope with a tinge of pain,
The sting of loss,
Healing a heart is beautiful,
And sorrowful
With loss amidst the challenge
Of facing the unknown,
It is an escape room,
With the excitement from
The fear itself,
In a contained space,
The heart beats for what was,
The familiar,
And fears even the beauty of a fresh start,
Facing that conflict
is where the healing happens,
A heart is stitched together, bringing opposite sides together
Cry for what was,
But not for what could have been,
Because it wasn’t;
But there is a “will be”
On the horizon,
If you will let it come
To be.

The Pilgrimage

Summer solstice came
As my footfalls returned me here,
And with them,
a great sea-change,
Of my shelled heart,
a cracking
And from it grew,
Bloomed,
Burst forth a greater
Beating vessel,
Capable of holding more,
The conflicting emotions
And complexities of what can only come
For out-growing fear,
Of learning what to take away from lessons learned
From this recent venture home and round again;
This–my pilgrimage.

April Shower

Rain came,
With wind blowing in the cool mist,
The drops gently falling
To trace the contours of the dry land
Touching all in its midst;
Thirst is quenched,
If just for a day,
With this single spring shower;
Puddles collect within dimples of earth,
And slowly build,
Overflow,
And run freely as translucent ribbons,
Streams flowing,
Spreading,
Mixing necessary libations
Of and for life.

Grow Wildflower

Wildflower, grow,
Don’t hold yourself back,
Let your self-empowerment be
A light
That brightens your path
And know it is also an inspiration
For others along their way;
Be a pollinator, wildflower
Of Pride, in self,
Pride in who you are,
Not just what you have done;
As a flower that grew up past concrete,
You are first and foremost
A seemly impossible miracle
That is,
As a living being,
Treat your petals gently, wildflower
And be unafraid
To bloom.
